In September, industrial production in Ukraine dropped by 4.4% against September last year. In August, a decline was 5.3%, preceded by 4.2% in July, 5.6% in June, 12.2% in May, 16.2% in April, 7.7% in March, 1.5% in February and 5.1% in January, according to the State Statistics Service.
At the same time, with adjustment for the effect of calendar days, the fall in industrial production in September was more significant, 5.4% against 4.2% in August.
In September, production of steel and finished metal products declined by 7.6%, mining of iron ores by 8.4% against September 2019.
In the first nine months of 2020, industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 7% y-o-y.
In January–September, production of steel and finished metal products dropped by 12.6% and mining of iron ores by 5.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In 2019, industrial production in Ukraine declined by 1.8% against 2018. Last year, production of steel and finished metal products decreased by 3.1%, whereas mining of iron ores remained unchanged.
