In August 2021, industrial production in Ukraine grew by 0.6% against August last year. In July, the growth was 0.2%, according to the State Statistics Service.
In August 2021, production of steel and finished metal products grew by 5.4%, while mining of iron ores fell by 6.7% against August 2020.
With adjustment for the effect of calendar days, however, the growth in industrial production was less significant in August — 0.2%. This was 2.3% down from July 2021.
In January–August, industrial production in Ukraine increased by 1.7% y-o-y.
In 8M, production of steel and finished metal products jumped by 7.1%, and mining of iron ores by 4.6% y-o-y.
In 2020, industrial production in Ukraine declined by 5.2% against 2019. Last year, production of steel and finished metal products decreased by 9.1%, whereas mining of iron ores by 2.4%.
