According to Ukrmetallurgprom, in January to July, iron & steel companies of Ukraine increased production of steel by 3.6%, to 12.6 million tons, and rolled products — by 2.1%, to 10.9 million tons, compared to the same period a year earlier.
Production of pig iron from January to July remains almost flat compared to the previous year, showing a 0.8% drop to 11.8 million tons.
In July, Ukrainian steelmakers increased production of steel by 2.6%, to 1.7 million tons, and pig iron — by 2.9%, to 1.6 million tons, compared to June. Production of rolled products shrank by 0.9%, down to 1.5 million tons, compared to the previous month.
As reported earlier, the Ukrainian mining & metals sector increased production of pig iron, steel and rolled products in the first half of 2019.
