In January-June, Ukraine exported 1.4 million tons of semi-finished products

In January-June 2022, Ukrainian steel plants reduced the export of semi-finished products by 60.8% compared to the same period in 2021, to 1.43 million tons, according to the State Customs Service data.

Over the first half of the year, Ukrainian steelmakers reduced their revenue from the export of semi-finished products by 54.1%, to $900.84 million.

The biggest importer of semi-finished products from Ukraine was Bulgaria (21.38% of supplies in monetary terms). In second place was Italy (15.59%), and in third – Turkey (11.87%).

In addition, for 6 months Ukraine imported 5.52 thousand tons of semi-finished products. This is 47.2% less compared to January-June 2021. In monetary terms, the import of semi-finished products decreased by 45.2%, to $3.53 million. Imports were carried out from the Russian Federation (99.72% of supplies), China (0.25%) and Belgium (0.03%).

Earlier GMK Center reported, that at the end of 2021 export of semi-finished products from Ukraine decreased by 9.5% compared to 2020, to 6.8 million tons. In monetary terms, exports grew by 48.8%, to $4.1 billion.

The biggest importers of Ukrainian semi-finished products for the year were Italy (30.9%), Turkey (12.8%) and the Dominican Republic (8%).
