Imports to Ukraine have risen by 30%, while exports have increased by 4.5% over the past four months

According to figures for January–April 2026, imports of goods into Ukraine totaled $32.2 billion, while exports amounted to $13.9 billion. The volume of imports over the first four months of 2026 increased by 30% compared to the same period last year, while exports rose by only 4.5%. This was reported by the State Customs Service.

The largest volumes of exports from Ukraine went to Poland ($1.5 billion), Turkey ($1.2 billion), and Italy ($857 million).

The top three most exported goods from Ukraine were:

  1. Food products – $8.5 billion.
  2. Metals and steel products – $1.3 billion.
  3. Machinery, equipment, and transportation – $1.2 billion.

The largest importers of goods to Ukraine were: China – $8.7 billion, Poland – $3.1 billion, and Turkey – $2.2 billion.

Of the total volume of goods imported in January–April 2026, 72% consisted of the following categories:

  1. Machinery, equipment, and transportation – $13.3 billion.
  2. Fuel and energy products – $5.3 billion.
  3. Chemical industry products – $4.6 billion.

In January–April 2026, during customs clearance of exports subject to export duties, 585.9 million UAH was paid to the budget.

As a reminder, Ukraine’s trade turnover for January–December 2025 totaled $125.1 billion. Last year, the country imported goods worth $84.8 billion and exported goods worth $40.3 billion.
