Ilyich Steel launched manufacture of 13 new types of metal products in 2019

Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich Steel) launched manufacture of 13 new types of metal products in 2019.

The company wrote about this on its official Facebook page.

Last year, Ilyich Steel supplied its cold-rolled 0.6 mm think coil HC260LA to Poland — it is three times thinner than a match.

The company also increased the weight of plate ЛПЦ-3000 to 9.4 tons. Finished products were exported to Romania, Saudi Arabia, Poland, UAE and Spain.

Ilyich Iron and Steel Works also launched continuous slab casting at its BOF shop with increased requirements to surface quality and chemical composition.

As reported earlier, in 2019, the company increased production of rolled products by 15% to 3.337 million tons compared to the previous year. In H1 2019, Ilyich Steel and Azovstal also launched production of 27 new types of metal products.

Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO at Metinvest, said that in 2020, the company is going to focus on expansion of its product portfolio by launching products of higher grade and profitability. According to Mr Ryzhenkov, this will be achieved mainly through increasing production at mill 1700 at Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.
