GMK Center has prepared a number of articles — Green Steel: Today and Tomorrow

The implementation of the European Green Deal poses enormous challenges for Ukraine’s iron and steel industry during the war. The topic of green steel is of strategic importance for Ukraine. The country is oriented toward the European market, where carbon requirements are becoming the new standard.

At the same time, the ecological transformation of heavy industry is gaining momentum around the world. The world’s leading metallurgical giants are officially switching to zero-carbon steel production technologies, which is a significant contribution to the fight against climate change.

GMK Center has prepared a collection of materials entitled «Green Steel: Today and Tomorrow» which can be viewed and downloaded at this link.

In this collection, we have analyzed and summarized the experiences, achievements, paths, and challenges of various countries in the green steel transition. We hope that this experience and series of materials will help market participants, researchers, and stakeholders gain a complete and broad picture of the challenges and successes of the green transformation of the steel industry.

List of materials in the collection:

▫️Steel on the path to net zero

▫️The US as a leader in green steel

▫️China’s path to carbon-free steel

▫️How will India decarbonize its metallurgy?
