Global steel production in March 2022 decreased by 5.8% compared to March 2021, up to 161 million tons, according to World Steel Association’s global ranking of steel producers.
Total steel production in the CIS countries and Ukraine for the month fell by 19.2% compared to March 2021, to 7.4 million tons.

In the Q1 2022, world production decreased by 6.8% compared to the same period in 2021, to 456.6 million tons. The CIS countries in three months reduced production by 8.5%, to 24 million tons.
In 2021 the global output of steel increased by 3.7% compared to 2020, to 1.95 billion tons. Ukraine increased smelting by 3.6%, to 21.4 million tons and took 14th place in the global ranking of 64 steel-producing countries.
