Freight traffic in Ukraine went up 3.6% in 11M

In 11M 2021, freight traffic in Ukraine grew by 3.6% to 566.1 million tons y-o-y, according to the State Statistics Service.

A decline was recorded in the following cargo transport segments in 11M:

  • water transport — minus 5.7% to 4.9 million tons,
  • air transport — minus 20.3% to 70.1 million tons,
  • pipe transport — minus 4.8% to 0.1 million tons.

In 11M 2021, railway traffic increased by 2.9% to 287 million tons, and road traffic by 16.9% to 204 million tons compared to the same period a year earlier.

As GMC Center reported earlier, freight traffic for all means of transport fell by 11.2% in 2020.
