Ferroalloy exports from Ukraine grew by 21% y/y in 2025

In 2025, Ukrainian ferroalloy enterprises exported 93.84 thousand tons of products compared to 77.36 thousand tons (+21.4% y-o-y) during the same period in 2024. This is evidenced by GMK Center calculations based on data from the State Customs Service.

The largest consumers of ferroalloy products during the period were Algeria (21.28 thousand tons), Poland (25.97 thousand tons (+24% y-o-y)), Turkey – 20.4 thousand tons (+87% y-o-y), and Italy – 12.02 thousand tons (-29.1% y-o-y).

In December last year, the figure fell by 38.5% compared to the previous month and by 49.5% y/y to 2.46 thousand tons. Poland imported 2.01 thousand tons of Ukrainian products during the month (+46.8% m/m). Turkey, Algeria, and Italy did not purchase Ukrainian products last month.

In Q4, export volumes decreased by 10% compared to the same period in 2024 and by 28.2% compared to the previous quarter, to 16.33 thousand tons. This is the lowest quarterly figure since Q1 2024, when the industry was completely shut down due to energy supply problems.

Export revenue for 2025 increased to $105.44 million compared to $88.63 million a year earlier (+19% y/y), while in December it decreased by 36.9% m/m and 38.7% y/y to $2.85 million. In Q4, this indicator grew by 4.8% y/y but decreased by 28.2% q/q to $18.51 million.

It should be noted that in 2024, Ukrainian ferroalloy plants reduced their output by 49.4% y-o-y – to 108.2 thousand tons. The industry resumed operations in April-May after a forced shutdown in the fall of 2023.

As a result, ferroalloy exports for the year decreased by 77.5% compared to 2023, from 344.17 thousand tons to 77.32 thousand tons. In 2022, this figure was 349,560 tons, and in 2021, it was 668,540 tons.

The main consumers of Ukrainian-made ferroalloy products last year were Poland – 20,940 tons (189,340 tons in 2023), Turkey – 45.69 thousand tons (45.69 thousand tons), Italy – 16.96 thousand tons (18.74 thousand tons).
