The mining company Ferrexpo, as part of its humanitarian aid program, handed over medical equipment for the traumatological, neurological and rehabilitation departments worth more than UAH 4.2 million to the city hospital of Horishni Plavni in Poltava region. This equipment will allow providing more modern and efficient services for the residents of the community.
«We received equipment for performing arthroscopy, which will be used for the treatment of patients with knee and shoulder joint injuries, ophthalmological devices for diagnosing vision after concussions, as well as electroneuromyographic systems for examining and restoring the functions of muscles and nerves after injuries,» said the medical director of the city hospital Maxim Krivchenko .
One of the key ones is the supply of the M-TU8T ON electroneuromyographic computer complex, which allows to study peripheral nerves and restore them after injuries. Also among the equipment is an autoreflector keratometer for accurate determination of visual acuity, an ophthalmology table WZ-20 for measuring the visual fields of patients with contusions, and the Ergo arthroscopic system used for surgical treatment of meniscal and ligament injuries.
Chairman of the board of the Poltava Mining, Victor Lotous, emphasized the importance of supporting such initiatives.
«We understand that modern rehabilitation requires new approaches and equipment that meets world standards. Therefore, we actively promote not only its purchase, but also help train medical workers to work with this equipment,» he noted.
Ferrexpo has not only provided the hospital with the necessary equipment, but will also support the staff training process for effective use and further maintenance of the transferred equipment.

Mayor of Horishni Plavni Dmytro Bykov thanked Ferrexpo for its contribution to the development of local medicine and emphasized that the modern rehabilitation department, created with the support of the company, will help significantly improve the quality of medical services for veterans and local residents.
«We plan to expand the useful area of the rehabilitation department. After all, the present requires completely new approaches and requirements for the creation of a modern rehabilitation department equipped with innovative equipment, which is currently provided by Ferrexpo,» he noted.
In general, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ferrexpo has provided humanitarian aid in the amount of over UAH 1 billion to communities in 12 regions of Ukraine, supporting efforts to protect and restore the country.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Ferrexpo directed UAH 10 million to reconstruction support of National Specialized Children’s Hospital of the Ministry of Health Okhmatdit in Kyiv, which was damaged by a Russian missile strike on July 10, 2024.
