Exports via the Ukrainian sea corridor reached 45 million tons

Since August 2023, Ukraine has exported 45 million tons of cargo to 44 countries through the sea corridor created by the Navy. This is stated in a post on Facebook by the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.

«For almost 9 months of operation of the Ukrainian corridor, almost 1600 vessels have exported 45 million tons of cargo from the ports of Greater Odesa. These are mainly products of Ukrainian farmers for world food markets,» the ministry said.

The Ministry added that Ukraine remains a top exporter of agricultural products and a guarantor of food security. 38 countries received more than 30 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products.

As of May 10, there were 108 more vessels approaching the ports, exporting more than 3 million tons of cargo.

We remind you that the Unity maritime corridor affordable ship insurance program, implemented by Marsh McLennan and Lloyd’s of London in cooperation with the Ukrainian government, has been expanded to cover all non-military cargo.

As GMK Center reported earlier, on April 6, 2024, the bulk carrier Captain Leonidas left Pivdennyi port, becoming the largest vessel to sail through the Ukrainian sea corridor. The Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier was loaded with 195.7 thousand tons of products from Ukrainian steelmakers. George Island (178.06 thousand tons) and Jutta (176.85 thousand tons) were also among the top three vessels with the maximum amount of cargo.
