DMZ performed an upgrade of the equipment of the coke chemical unit

The Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) has updated the equipment at the coke-chemical plant (KHV). This is reported in the DCH Steel corporate newspaper.

In particular, the repair of one of the reserve extinguishing wagons was completed at KHV. The considerable amount of work lasted about two months and was carried out by a specialized workshop for the repair of coke-chemical equipment.

The central supporting beam, shutters and partially the transmission mechanisms were replaced on the special wagon. They also manufactured and mounted a cutter, installed new lining plates made of cast iron, cast at the molding and casting department of a specialized workshop for the repair of steel equipment. After repair, the special vehicle was put into operation on October 22.

In addition, the upper platform of the skip lift No. 2 of the coal tower of the coking plant was promptly replaced at the enterprise – in 5 days. At the same time, the KHV repairmen bored out the hoist pulley, which is attached to this platform. Among the important works are also the dismantling and installation of the gas collection device for coke gas residues, replacement of the scales of bunker No. 2. Currently, the replacement of the coal conveyor cover is being completed. In addition, engineering communications are being updated at the coke-chemical plant.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-September 2024 DMZ reduced the production of rolled steel by 56.9% compared to the same period last year – to 35.8 thousand tons. The production of metallurgical coke decreased by 0.4% y/y – up to 218.1 thousand tons.

In 2023, the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant increased the production of rolled metal by 86.2% compared to 2022 – to 105.6 thousand tons. The production of metallurgical coke at the enterprise last year increased by 38.5% compared to 2022 – to 292 ,7 thousand tons.
