DMZ increased rolled steel production by 87.2% y/y in April

In April 2024, Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) increased its rolled steel production by 87.2% compared to the same month in 2023, to 10.8 thousand tons. The figure was up 74.1% month-on-month. This was reported to GMK Center by the press service of DCH Steel.

Metallurgical coke production for the month decreased by 15.9% compared to April 2023 and by 1.6% compared to March this year, to 24 thousand tons.

«In April, Dnipro Metallurgical Plant’s 550 rolling mill produced channels (14 to 30), 125 angles, and SVP-27 mine support. The coke and chemical production facility produced coke for blast furnaces at the steel mills and other products,» the statement said.

In January-April 2024, rolled steel production at DMZ decreased by 36.3% y/y – to 22.3 thousand tons, while coke production increased by 26% – to 93.8 thousand tons.

In 2023, DMZ increased its rolled steel production by 86.2% compared to 2022, to 105.6 thousand tons. Last year, the company’s production of metallurgical coke increased by 38.5% compared to 2022, to 292.7 thousand tons.

Last year, DMZ’s rolling mills focused on producing mine supports, mine rails, small volumes of channels and angles for the Ukrainian market. In addition, the company has resumed production of profiles in accordance with European standards.

Dnipro Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest steel companies in Ukraine. It is part of DCH Steel, a division of DCH Group. DMZ produces the largest range of channels and angles in Ukraine. Currently, the company is the only domestic producer of special profiles for the machine building and mining industries.
