DMZ has expanded the range of laboratory services for external customers

Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ), part of the DCH Steel group, has expanded the range of laboratory tests it can perform for third parties. This is stated in the company’s corporate newspaper.

Since December 2024, the specialists of the chemical laboratory of the DMZ have been offering services for analyzing the chemical composition of iron, steel and other substances. Thanks to the professionalism of its employees and technical equipment, the plant has become a reliable partner for companies requiring precise laboratory control.

DMZ has already signed long-term contracts with a number of clients, including Interpipe Nico Tube and DniproPress, which order chemical composition analysis of steel products. A new area for the laboratory was the study of sodium hypochlorite, an inorganic substance with disinfectant properties used in medicine, household and agriculture.

Previously, the Centralized Laboratory of the State Medical Center had not conducted such analyzes, but it had all the technical capabilities to do so. The specialists studied the DSTU and accompanying regulatory documents, but it turned out that the state standards did not contain a complete methodology for determining all components of hypochlorite. The laboratory team developed its own methodology, which allowed for an accurate analysis of the material.

The order was completed successfully, the client was satisfied with the result, and the laboratory is now ready to provide such services on an ongoing basis. This expansion of the range of work allows DMZ not only to increase its competitiveness but also to strengthen its position in the technical service market.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2024, DMZ reduced rolled steel production by 59.4% compared to 2023, to 42.9 thousand tons. Coke production decreased by 1.2% y/y – to 289.1 thousand tons.

The company is stepping up efforts to expand its presence in the domestic market. In 2024, the company continued to improve its production, focusing on the use of continuously cast billets for the production of channels at Rolling Shop No. 2. This helped reduce costs and increase the competitiveness of products.

Dnipro Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest steel companies in Ukraine. It is part of DCH Steel, a division of DCH Group. DMZ produces the largest range of channels and angles, and is the only manufacturer in Ukraine of channels with parallel shelves from 12 to 30, special profiles for machine building, crane and mine rails.
