In 2021, Ukrainian construction companies increased their construction output by 5.1% y-o-y. In December, the rate grew by 19.8%, according to the State Statistics Service.
In particular, in December, residential construction grew by 8.3% against December 2020. Over the year, the growth was even more significant and reached 16.8%.
Non-residential construction increased by 18.3%, and at the end of the year the growth reached 19.8%. The engineering construction output grew by 22.9% in December and by 3.1% over the year.
The share of new construction in the total construction output in 2021 was 29.6%, repair 45%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment 25.4%. The volume of manufactured construction products totaled ₴253.9 billion at the end of the year.
The highest growth rates of the construction projects completed over the year were recorded in Ternopil (37.3%), Rivne (20.1%) and Cherkasy (17.6%) oblasts. Chernivtsi (-38.9%), Zakarpattia (-26.1%) and Kirovohrad (-22.3%) oblasts saw the most significant drop.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2020, Ukrainian companies increased their construction output by 4% against 2019. The sector’s performance improved due to the Big Construction program. The output of construction products totaled ₴199 billion.
