Central Mining replaced two mills at the enrichment plant

Two ball mills were replaced at the enrichment plant of the Central Mining and Processing Plant (Central Mining), which is part of the Metinvest Group. This was reported by Metinvest. Media.

In February, in accordance with the scheduled maintenance schedule, specialists at Central Mining replaced the drums of two mills – No. 82 and No. 91. The work took 86 hours to complete.

The upgrade will ensure high productivity and efficient operation of the equipment, high quality of raw material processing and output products, and will also improve safety for employees.

To carry out this type of replacement, the mining and processing plant’s specialists first inspect and repair the entire chain: conveyors, classifier spirals, hydrocyclones, etc. At the final stage, the plant’s surveyors take the necessary measurements to ensure that the large equipment is installed without any distortions or misalignments.

As noted by Eduard Kobitsky, head of the enrichment plant section at Metinvest’s Central Mining, timely repair and restoration measures ensure the stable efficiency of the technological process.

«The mill plays an important role in determining product quality, so this equipment requires constant attention. Regular maintenance of its operating parameters at an optimal level is the key to long-term and successful operation, which allows the factory to achieve its planned targets,» he explained.

The processing capacity of each mill ranges from 162 to 230 tons per hour, depending on adjusted daily plans and needs. In total, 22 mills operate in the concentrate production section, which are systematically replaced as needed.

It should be noted that at the end of last year, Central Mining completed another scheduled overhaul of the pelletizing plant, the main unit for the manufacture of commercial products. Work at the enterprise is carried out twice a year and is aimed at restoring and replacing critically important technological equipment.
