Central Mining completed a comprehensive overhaul of the crushing plant equipment

Central Mining and Processing Plant (Central GOK), a part of Metinvest Group, has completed a comprehensive overhaul of its crushing plant equipment. More than UAH 5 million was allocated for the project. This is stated in a press release by Metinvest.Media.

As part of the repair, the specialists replaced the conveyor belts to ensure trouble-free operation of the equipment and the stability of the production plan. The work was carried out on two main conveyors, which play key roles in the plant’s technological process.

“A new 196-meter-long belt was installed on the M-2 conveyor. It transports ore from the second stage of grinding to the third and fourth stages. The capacity of this belt reaches 3 thousand tons per hour. It ensures the operation of all four ore crushing paths and the coherence of all production processes at the crushing plant depends on its stable operation. The belt was repaired to prevent accidents, as its technical condition required replacement after three years of continuous operation,” said Anton Milkevich, deputy head of the plant’s crushing plant.

The main conveyor KS-1 is also already performing its functions thanks to the renewal of 281 meters of belt. This conveyor transports ore from the third and fourth crushing stages to dry magnetic separation, and from there to the concentrator after waste rock is screened out.

The plant also upgraded its rail track and crane beam. The modernization of these elements is part of a comprehensive set of operational improvements. In particular, this includes the restoration of the crane beam, which is continuously involved in the repair of conveyors; key elements and components; daily repairs, which include the replacement of feeder armor in bins, etc.

“The repairs will allow us to perform only maintenance of the equipment for at least a year without stopping for long-term repairs. The work will ensure the acceptance and grinding of ore and its transportation to the concentrator in the volumes stipulated by the production plan,” the company summarizes.

As a reminder, in May this year, Central GOK completed the upgrade of the crusher KRD 900/100 at the crushing plant. Investments in the project amounted to UAH 4 million. The work involved replacing the cone armor, bowl, and hydraulic cylinder of the crusher to ensure efficient crushing of ore.
