The volume of capital investment in the steel industry and production of finished steel products fell by ₴0.7 billion (-13.2%) to ₴4.6 billion in Q1 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the State Statistics Service.
The share of the steel industry and production of steel products was 30.1% of all industrial capital investment.
In Q1, capital investments in the mining industry (iron ore mining) as part of the mining & metals sector fell by ₴4.4 billion (-31.3%) to ₴9.7 billion. Their share in the total volume of industrial capital investment was 31.7%.
In total, capital investment in the industry in Q1 2020 decreased by ₴13.5 billion (-30.7%) to ₴30.5 billion.
In 2019, the volume of capital investment in the steel industry and production of finished steel products increased to ₴30.49 billion. Capital investment index was 129.7%.
