In January–March 2021, capital investment in steel production and production of finished metal products fell by 25.8% to ₴3.4 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the State Statistics Service.
The total capital investment in the industrial sector grew by 1.6% to ₴31.1 billion in Q1 y-o-y.
The share of steel production and production of metal products in the total volume of capital investment within the industrial sector totaled 11% in this period.
Mining and metals companies invested in the mining industry, among other things. In Q1, investment in this sector went up 7.1% to ₴10.4 billion. Their share in the total volume of industrial capital investments was 33.4%.
As reported earlier, the volume of capital investment in steel production and production of finished metal products in 2020 declined by 52.6% to ₴18.8 billion in 2019 compared to the previous year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. Capital investment in the mining industry fell by 53% to ₴44.8 billion.
