ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has acquired four new SHAHTUI mining dump trucks

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’s motor transport department has added four new SHAHTUISK90-C6 dump trucks with a load capacity of 60 tons to its fleet of heavy-duty vehicles. The company is one of the first in Ukraine to introduce this model into production. This was reported in the corporate newspaper Metallurg.

The new machines are already operating in metallurgical production, transporting slag, coke, and other bulk and large-sized cargo.

«New is always better than old, and if the new equipment is also convenient to work with, then it is even more pleasant to work with it… Just look at the large cab of this dump truck… Video cameras provide better visibility… Thanks to them, there are no more blind spots for the driver,» said driver Dmitry Voilov, who previously drove a 45-ton BelAZ.

The lower profile of the new dump trucks facilitates maintenance and refueling – access to the main components is now possible from ground level. The machines are still controlled mechanically, but they are equipped with modern electronics to monitor operating parameters. Drivers and maintenance personnel have been trained by dealer representatives at the ArcelorMittal corporate university.

“This is new technology for us… These are vehicles of a completely different concept, so drivers had to learn how to drive and maintain them,” said Sergey Galenko, head of motorcade No. 4.

SHAHTUI trucks have reinforced running gear, an improved braking system, full video surveillance, parking sensors, and anti-vibration seats. The new dump trucks are currently being tested, but are already demonstrating their reliability and ease of operation.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih hopes to return to its pre-war investment plans of $500 million per year after the war. With the cumulative effect, this will increase the opportunities for Ukrainian business and help attract foreign investment to Ukraine.
