ArcelorMittal anounced the decision to stop steel production at the mining and smelting plant PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”, stated in the message on the company website.
ArcelorMittal said it will stop production at “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” to ensure the safety of people and assets. The steelmaker noted that he monitored the situation every day.
“Today, we started the process of shutting down all blast furnaces. It will take 7 to 10 days to shut down these assets safely while maintaining their integrity”, ArcelorMittal said in a statement.
“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” earlier reduced production volumes to a technical minimum – about a third of the normal production level.
PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” is an integrated steelmaking company, a part of ArcelorMittal Group. Its activity covers the entire production route from iron ore mining and coke production to manifacture of finished metal products. The Company produces semi-finished and long products and rolled sections.
