MENA Green Steel Summit 2024 will be held in Dubai (UAE) on September 11-12. The event will bring together professionals from the steel industry, as well as other industries and stakeholders to discuss the situation and trends in green steel development in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). The event will also showcase the latest achievements in reducing carbon emissions in steel production.
Steel industry is the backbone of modern industrial society, providing essential support for a wide range of sectors, including construction, infrastructure, aerospace, automotive and machinery. However, it is one of the most energy-intensive industries in the world and is responsible for approximately 25% of global carbon emissions from industrial production.
More and more regions are putting CO2 reduction on their agendas as climate concerns deepen, and a green transformation of the steel sector is inevitable.
The Middle East and North Africa is a very promising new hub for green steel. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the MENA green steel market is expected to be around 38% during 2025-2030. This will be driven by the growing preference for sustainable and environmentally friendly products in the region.
