ANNOUNCEMENT: Green Steel Summit 2026

The Green Steel Summit 2026 will take place on May 7 in Istanbul, Turkey. The event is organized by SteelData, an online portal providing statistics on the global and Turkish steel industry.

The global steel industry is currently undergoing the most profound structural transformation in its history. With the introduction of the European CBAM and carbon tax in 2026, not only costs are changing, but also the entire set of rules governing supply, sales, production, trade, energy, and technology. The cross-border carbon adjustment mechanism is reshaping not only the principles of environmental responsibility but also competition, investment decisions, trade flows, and profitability structures.

During the Green Steel Summit, participants will hear the latest news on regulations, trends, technologies, strategies, prices, supply and demand, and much more directly from the leaders and pioneers of the green steel industry.

The conference will also provide an opportunity to network with representatives from all sides of the process, such as steel producers, traders, energy and raw material suppliers, consulting firms, government agencies, end-users, and others.

The event will specifically address the following key topics:

  • green steel production and low-carbon technologies;
  • the European CBAM, carbon taxes, and regulatory frameworks;
  • the energy transition—cost optimization and risk management;
  • supply chains, trade, and competitive strategies;
  • shifting global trade dynamics and new competitive strategies;
  • opportunities and threats arising from the energy transition;
  • the impact of CBAM and carbon taxes on corporate balance sheets and competitiveness;
  • payback periods and financing models for investments in green steel.
