The event will focus on decarbonization of the steel industry

The 3rd European Green Steel Summit 2025, organized by ECV International, will take place on March 25-26 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The event will focus on the following topics:

  • decarbonization of the steel industry and the problem of providing clean energy at enterprises;
  • accelerating the achievement of carbon neutrality in steel in the new political and economic context;
  • transformation of steelmaking using carbon-neutral technologies;
  • critical success factors for the decarbonization of European steel;
  • meeting the needs of end users for low-carbon hydrogen-based steel;
  • action plans and progress in addressing the carbon neutrality challenge;
  • maximizing the value of scrap and unlocking the potential of secondary carbon – circular economy practices in the steel industry.

The steel industry is currently one of the main sources of global carbon emissions. It accounts for approximately 7-9% of total global CO2 emissions.

Europe is at the forefront of the fight against climate change and has set ambitious climate goals. They not only challenge the entire European economy but also impose strict requirements on high-carbon steel production.

The EU steel industry, despite progress through technological innovation and policy, is still far from meeting the 30-40-50 climate goals. This will require concerted efforts from the entire industry.

Participants of the European Green Steel Summit 2025 will be able to collaborate to achieve breakthroughs in technological innovation, policy support, financial investment and industry cooperation, and make a new contribution to the realization of the EU’s climate goals and the sustainable development of the global steel conference.

The summit will be held in both in-person and online formats.
