ANNOUNCEMENT: AsiaCoke 2026 conference

AsiaCoke 2026, organized by Smithers, will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from March 30 to April 1.

The global coking, coal, and steel industries are facing many challenges caused by declining demand for steel, geopolitical tensions, environmental regulations, high interest rates, currency fluctuations, and China’s troubled real estate sector.

Some of these challenges represent structural changes, such as the shift in the role of the main driver of growth from China to India. In addition, there are unpredictable factors such as trade disputes and wars that create market volatility.

The industry must also respond to growing expectations for decarbonization in line with global carbon emission reduction targets.

AsiaCoke will serve as a platform for communication between representatives of the entire coking industry supply chain. Expert speakers at the conference will address the challenges facing the sector.

The event program includes the following topics:

  • global dynamics and future development of the coke, coal, and steel industries,
  • opportunities for using coking coal in Southeast Asia amid global changes,
  • technology and sustainable development in coke and steel production,
  • developing markets – trade and investment (competitive challenge from Chinese steel and coke exports, metallurgical margins and raw material costs, global trade measures and trade in metal products, and the coking coal market in 2026, etc.).

The detailed conference program can be found here.

Asiacoke will provide opportunities for innovation and new professional connections. The list of speakers for this year’s event can be found here.
