Announcement: 3rd China Green Steel Summit 2024

The third China Green Steel Summit, organized by ECV International, will be held in Shanghai, China, on November 21-22, 2024.

The event will be held under the slogan “Energy Conservation, Carbon Reduction and Green Development”. The conference will bring together experts, researchers and professionals from various sectors of the steel industry, providing a platform for the exchange of views and discussion of sustainable development issues.

The event aims to promote the intelligent and low-carbon transformation and modernization of the steel industry and to forecast its green future.

Steel industry is an important basic industry in China’s economy and is crucial for economic and social development. With the announcement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets in 2020, the steel industry has become a key area for achieving green and low-carbon development goals, which has become a universal consensus both nationally and globally.

According to statistics, annual carbon emissions from the steel industry account for approximately 15% of China’s total CO2 emissions. Due to constant changes in the steel market and policy, the industry faces many challenges, including uncertainty in the global economic situation, fluctuating raw material prices, and growing pressure to protect the environment. The transformation of enterprises towards environmental and low-carbon development is inevitable.

The main topics of the conference:

  • The steel market in the context of “double carbon” and ultra-low emissions;
  • Analysis of the EU cross-border carbon adjustment mechanism;
  • Study of the main technological pathways of Baowu carbon-neutral steel technology;
  • Direct iron reduction process using hydrogen instead of carbon;
  • Development of technology and practice of pollution and carbon emission reduction pathways;
  • Ways to realize energy savings and cost reduction in the steel production process;
  • How digitalization contributes to the low-carbon transformation of steel production;
  • Intelligent rolling technology: deep integration of green digital manufacturing and the industrial internet;
  • Accelerating carbon emissions reduction through biomass steel production;
  • Panel discussion – building a sustainable green steel production chain to strike a balance between economic benefit and environmental safety.

The conference will be held in in-person and online formats.
Simultaneous interpretation (mutual translation from Chinese and English) will be provided at the venue.

GMK Center is the media sponsor of the event.
