ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR) ramped up production of rolled products by 11.2% in 2019, 4.7 million tons up from the previous year,
according to Interfax-Ukraine.
Steel production over the year increased by 11.8% against 2018, up to 5.3 million tons. Pig iron production grew by 14.9% to 5.3 million tons.
AMKR increased production of sinter ore by 14.3% to 9.8 million tons, iron ore concentrate — by 5.8% to 9.8 million tons, and coke — by 3% to 2.8 million tons. Production of commercial iron ore fell by 7.8% to 851 thousand tons.
In December 2019, AMKR produced 440 thousand tons of rolled products, 390 thousand tons of steel and 419 thousand tons of pig iron. Production of commercial iron ore was 54 thousand tons, sinter ore — 753 thousand tons, iron ore concentrate — 840 thousand tons, and coke — 207 thousand tons.
