A dry port is being built in Vinnytsia region to help connect the central regions of the country with the ports of Odesa and, through the Mostyska container terminal, with EU countries. Investments in the project are estimated at $15 million. Deputy Mayor of Vinnytsia Andriy Ocheretnyi announced this on Facebook.

“It will be a railway terminal that will improve the prompt transportation and handling of cargo, as well as the export and import potential of our country. It will help to connect the central regions of the country with the ports of the big city of Odesa and, through the Mostyska container terminal, with the EU countries,” he said.

The first phase of construction began in the spring of 2024. It involves the construction of railway infrastructure and the first container yard with a capacity of about 30 thousand TEUs per year. A container warehouse with a capacity of 2000 TEU will also be built.

Part of the railway tracks, a weighing system, and a 3.5 thousand square meter warehouse are already ready.

The Dry Port is scheduled to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2024. It will employ about 50 people. A total of 100 jobs are planned to be created.

As GMK Center, the Mostyska container terminal (Mostyska Dry Port) handled more than 72.4 thousand TEU of containerized cargo in 2023. Over the past year, the consolidated volume of general, bulk and liquid cargo handling increased to 286 thousand tons. The total amount of the company’s investments over the past year is estimated at over UAH 100 million. The amount of taxes paid to all budgets of Ukraine reached UAH 27.66 million.
