10 million tons of goods were exported through the Ukrainian sea corridor

Since the launch of the Ukrainian sea corridor, domestic companies have shipped 10 million tons of cargo for export via the Black Sea. This was announced by Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, according to a press release from the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Over 4 months, 302 vessels exported Ukrainian farmers’ products and other cargo to 24 countries.

«During the 4 months of operation of the corridor, we expanded the range of goods and started exporting them. I note that the volume of agricultural products has increased significantly: from 278,000 tons in the first month to almost 5 million tons now,» he said.

Since the launch of the maritime corridor, the ports of Greater Odesa have received 337 new vessels for loading, and another 79 are preparing to receive them in the near future.

Ukrainian sea ports in January-November 2023 increased cargo transshipment by 15.8% compared to the same period in 2022 – up to 52.8 million tons. Over 11 months, 47.9 million tons of exports were handled, and 4.6 million tons of imports. The ports of the Danube Cluster handled 29.4 million tons of cargo during this period.

As GMK Center reported earlier, a temporary corridor to and from the ports of Greater Odesa was launched in August this year. In November, 14 vessels exported a total of 620,000 tons of iron ore and 140,000 tons of steel products from Odesa and Pivdenny ports.

In October, the export of Ukrainian iron and steel products through the ports of Great Odesa was approximately 507,000 tons of iron ore (four bulkers from Pivdenhoy) and 213,500 tons of steel products (two ships from Odesa).
