The industry recovers after a decline early this year

A decline in industrial production is slowing down in Ukraine. In March 2019, the industrial production index was 102.7% compared to March 2018.

According to the State Statistics Service, by April 2019, the industrial production index had reached 99.1% in yearly terms. In January–February, it was 97.5% compared to 96.7% in January.

In March, the industrial production index rose in 14 Ukrainian oblasts. In nine of them, the growth rate was higher than average. 11 oblasts showed a negative trend.

The processing industry was the growth driver in the third month of the year. Its production index made up 105%.

In the structure of the processing industry, mining & metals companies showed a good dynamic.

In March, the industrial production index of the steel segment was 108.9%, iron ore mining — 101.6%.
