The forum will discuss, among other things, the supply of high-quality scrap, processing technologies, and pricing.
On November 13-14, Düsseldorf, Germany, will host the European Steel Scrap and Circular Economy Forum 2025, organized by ECV International.
The event will bring together scrap recycling leaders, steel producers, end users, technology innovators, and policymakers to explore how circular strategies can unlock growth, resilience, and sustainability for the European steel industry.
Europe is accelerating its transition to a climate-neutral and resource-efficient economy, with steel at the heart of industrial decarbonization and circularity. Its scrap-based production is not only crucial for reducing carbon emissions, but also plays a leading role in closing cycles in key sectors such as construction, automotive, and packaging.
The forum will address critical topics, including the supply of high-quality scrap, advanced processing technologies, pricing and cost dynamics, and policy frameworks that support circular steel flows.
The event offers a platform for strategic dialogue, cross-sector collaboration, and practical insights for scaling up more circular and low-carbon metallurgy in Europe.
Topics at the forum include:
- steel scrap market dynamics and growth opportunities in a circular economy;
- the strategic role of scrap for the European steel industry – environmental, economic, and political perspectives;
- scrap-based steel production – balancing circularity and high-quality product requirements;
- supply of high-grade scrap;
- ensuring sustainable mobility – demand for recycled steel and designing for circularity;
- next-generation scrap shredding and recycling technologies;
- circularity and the use of scrap in stainless steel production.
The forum will be held in person and online.
