Vartis has opened four new steel centers in Western Ukraine since the beginning of the year

Soon, the company plans to open several more branches in Ivano-Frankivsk region and Zakarpattia

Ukrainian steel trading company Vartis has opened four new steel centers in Western Ukraine since the beginning of 2024. This is stated in a message on the company’s Facebook page.

This year, the company’s branches have already started operating in Nadvirna (Ivano-Frankivsk region), Sarny (Rivne region), Lutsk (Volyn), and Zolochiv (Lviv region).

Vartis is planning to open several more steel depots in Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions in the near future.

In 2023, the company opened 7 new steel centers. The company’s representative offices have opened in Cherkasy, Zarvantsi, Vinnytsia, Zarichany, Lviv, Brody and Ternopil. The steel centers offer sheets, rebar, pipes, channels, wire rod, wire, mesh, steel angles, strips, circles, beams, squares, plasterboard systems, insulation, bricks, cement, roofing materials, tools, etc.

As GMK Center reported earlier, consumption of rolled steel in Ukraine increased by more than 20% in 2023 compared to 2022. The main trend was the intensification of construction and reconstruction of infrastructure, energy shelters, and an increase in the volume of reconstruction of destroyed housing. Another trend was a significant increase in imports to Ukraine, especially of rolled steel sheets.

Last year, Ukrainian steelmakers increased rolled steel production by 0.4% compared to 2022, to 5.37 million tons. In 2023, exports of steel products amounted to 1.78 million tons, while in 2022 they amounted to 2.47 million tons. Imports of the corresponding products reached 1.18 million tons last year, while in 2022 they amounted to 621.6 thousand tons.
