Member companies of Ukrtruboprom ramped up production of pipes by 23.6%

In January–July, Ukrainian pipe companies increased pipe production by 21.2% to 569.6 thousand tons compared to the same period a year earlier. In July, they produced 96.2 thousand tons of pipes, according to Interfax-Ukraine citing Ukrtruboprom.

In 7M, Ukrainian pipe companies increased pipe production by 23.6% to 377.7 thousand tons y-o-y. In July, member companies of Ukrtruboprom ramped up pipe production by 81.5% to 70.8 thousand tons against July a year earlier.

“The global economy is recovering from the coronavirus pandemic, and the situation on foreign markets therefore remains favorable. This enables Ukrtruboprom companies to increase production of seamless pipes for the fifth month in a row,” says Georgiy Polsky, Director of Ukrtruboprom.

He noted that a rise in oil prices naturally contributes to consumption of pipes in the oil and gas segment. For instance, U.S. oil companies have increased production several times. At the same time, Ukrtruboprom records an increase in supply of premium pipe products.

In January–July, Interpipe companies produced:

  • Interpipe NMPP — 28.9 thousand tons (-33.4% against January–July 2020);
