Metinvest-SMC supplied 3,000 tons of rolled steel for Kryvyi Rih heating networks

The company provided steel for the production of large-diameter pipes to ensure a stable heating season

Metinvest-SMC, a steel trading company that is part of the Metinvest Group, has joined in preparing Kryvyi Rih for the current heating season by supplying the city with rolled metal products to upgrade its critical heating infrastructure. This was reported by Metinvest Kryvyi Rih.

The project became even more relevant after a difficult previous season, when nearly 40% of residential and social infrastructure consumers were left without a stable heat supply due to wear and tear and frequent accidents on the heating networks.

To solve the problem, the city authorities held a tender for the supply of large-diameter pipes with a total weight of 3,800 tons. Metinvest-SMC played a key role in the project, supplying nearly 3,000 tons of specially cut sheet metal. This metal was used to manufacture pipes for the Kryvyi Rih heating plant with diameters of 820 mm, 720 mm, and 630 mm, which made it possible to ensure the necessary technical parameters for the renovation of the main sections of the heating networks.

The metal products were supplied between August and October, which made it possible to start work on replacing damaged sections of the pipelines on time. As a result, the city received the necessary materials to stabilize heat supply and reduce the risk of large-scale accidents in the new heating season.

Earlier, Metinvest-SMC joined a large-scale infrastructure project to build a new main water pipeline to provide Mykolaiv with high-quality drinking water. As part of this initiative, the company supplied up to 500 tons of reinforcing steel of various sizes, which is the basis for creating a reliable water supply system.
