JSW has signed a contract worth 2.1 billion zlotys with ArcelorMittal Poland

The contract, signed for 2026, ensures stable sales for JSW and provides ArcelorMittal Poland with the necessary raw materials

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW), the largest producer of coking coal in the European Union, has signed a one-year contract with the steelmaker ArcelorMittal Poland to supply coking coal in 2026. The value of the deal is estimated at 2.1 billion zlotys, according to a statement from JSW.

The new agreement is strategic in nature and continues the long-standing cooperation between the two companies. The contract covers both detailed commercial terms and the qualitative and quantitative structure of raw material supplies. JSW notes that the signing of the document concluded the negotiation process, the progress of which the company had previously reported on in its current reports.

For JSW, the contract represents a stable sales channel for coking coal, which is one of the company’s key products. Given the current conditions of the European steel market, such an agreement is crucial for sales planning and the utilization of production capacity. For ArcelorMittal Poland, the contract, in turn, ensures guaranteed supplies of raw materials with the necessary parameters to maintain the continuity of steel production.

The agreement was signed on March 13, 2026. It governs deliveries for the entire current year and solidifies further cooperation between one of Europe’s largest coking coal producers and a key player in the Polish steel industry.

As a reminder, JSW ended 2025 nearly on target. During the period, 13.01 million tons of coal (97.3% of the plan) and 3.15 million tons of coking coal (100.8% of the plan) were produced. Sales reached 96.7% and 100.2% of annual targets. Despite problems at the mines and a weak market, the company maintained high levels.
