Specialists produce spindles and beams and repair gearboxes for external customers

The specialized steel equipment repair shop (SCRMU) at the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMP) is currently actively fulfilling orders for companies in the pipe industry, mining and metallurgical complex, and machine building. This is stated in a press release.

In particular, in October-November, the workshop’s specialists produced three spindles and a thrust screw for one of the pipe companies, and are now completing the production of a fourth spindle. In addition, among the latest tasks is the milling of four industrial beams for a machine-building company from Dnipro. The projections across the entire surface of the beams are made of stainless steel, which has high viscosity and is difficult to machine.

Recently, the SCRMU completed a large-scale repair of a rock loader bucket, replacing about 30% of the metal structures. For the Sukha Balka mine, an overhaul and repair of gearboxes is planned, as well as the production of parts for a mining cage attachment device. The workshop will produce a bronze worm wheel for a new customer.

In general, the DMZ SCRMU began producing non-standard metal structures for third-party organizations in December 2024. In 2025, the workshop expanded its scope of activities and now also fulfills orders for the repair and manufacture of equipment parts, confirming the high level of professionalism of its specialists and their ability to work with the most complex materials.

As a reminder, during the November campaign, rolling shop No. 2 of DMZ plans to produce 6.3 thousand tons of rolled metal, including channels of various sizes in accordance with European standards and DSTU. As part of the campaign, the plant plans to master the production of 60 mm diameter circles from 200×200 mm cast billets, which is an atypical type of rolled product for the mill that is in demand on the market.
