The share of new construction in the total construction output amounted to 40.7%
In July 2020, Ukrainian companies reduced the construction output by 1.1% against July last year, but increased it by 2.7% against the previous month, according to the State Statistics Service.
In January–July 2020, the construction output in monetary terms amounted to ₴80.9 billion, 4.6% down from the same period of 2019.
According to unadjusted data, the residential construction output dropped by 22%, non-residential construction output by 1.2%. Conversely, the engineering construction output grew by 0.7%.
The share of new construction in the total construction output was 40.7%, repair 32.2%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment 27.1%.
In January–July 2020, a growth in the construction output against the same period of 2019 was recorded in:
- Donetsk oblast — ₴3.2 billion (+14.4%);
- Kyiv oblast — ₴5.5 billion (+23.9%);
- Odesa oblast — ₴9.1 billion (+12.7%);
- Sumy oblast — ₴736 thousand (+0.8%);
- Khmelnytskyi oblast — ₴2 billion (+13.6%);
- Chernivtsi oblast — ₴904 thousand (+0.8%);
- Chernihiv oblast — ₴1.2 million (+37.9%).
Other oblasts reported a decline in the construction output. In Kyiv, it fell by 5.9% to ₴18.9 billion.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2019, Ukraine’s construction products index increased by 20% against 2018. The highest trends in the segment were recorded in non-residential and engineering construction, an increase of 27.4% and 23.3% respectively. The residential construction index was up by just 3%.
