The company made an upfront payment for extraction in the amount of UAH 2.25 billion to the state budget

PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” allocated $2 million for humanitarian needs of Ukraine during the war with Russia. It was reported by the company press service to the GMK Center.

The company transferred $1 million to the bank account of the Ukrainian government for humanitarian needs: accomodation, provide food, medicine and clothing for refugees and displaced persons.

The company also allocated an additional $1 million for humanitarian aid in Kryvyi Rih – to provide medical supplies, and equipment to local hospitals, foremost the ones for the injured.

All assistance is provided in cooperation with the Joint Headquarters of the Territorial Defense of Kryvyi Rih.

In addition ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih made an upfront payment for extraction in the amount of UAH 2.25 billion to support the state budget in an extremely difficult situation.

“As a global corporation and a Ukrainian company we want to do our part and help people who have been injured or lost their homes. We pray for our Kryvyi Rih and its defenders. We will use our professional skills in procurement and logistics as well as our financial ability to to help Kryvyi Rih and then to build Ukraine”, said Mauro Logobardo, CEO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.

As a reminder, on March 3, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih began to stop metallurgical production. The coking plant is operating at hot idle, while the mining department is operating at minimum capacities.

The company continues to pay the wages to all employees in full amount, regardless if they work at the plant, at home, are on paid leave, or had been called up for military services in the Armed Forces in Ukraine.
