The share of new construction in the total construction output amounted to 38.1%
In September 2020, Ukrainian companies increased the construction output by 11.8% against September last year and by 2.5% against August this year, according to the State Statistics Service.
In January–September 2020, the construction output in monetary terms amounted to ₴119.8 billion, 0.2% up from the same period of 2019.
According to unadjusted data, the residential construction output dropped by 19.1%, while engineering construction output increased by 7.7%. Non-residential construction remained flat compared to the same period of the previous year.
The share of new construction in the total construction output was 38.1%, repair 34.1%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment 27.8%.
In January–September 2020, a growth in the construction output against the same period of 2019 was recorded in:
- Vinnytsia oblast — ₴6.2 billion (+2.4%);
- Volyn oblast — ₴1.4 billion (+1.4%);
- Donetsk oblast — ₴5.4 billion (+36%);
- Kyiv oblast — ₴8 billion (+22%);
- Lviv oblast — ₴8.1 billion (+10.9%);
- Odesa oblast — ₴14.5 billion (+23.9%);
- Poltava oblast — ₴5.5 billion (+4.1%);
- Sumy oblast — ₴1.1 billion (+9.8%);
- Khmelnytskyi oblast — ₴3.5 billion (+35.3%);
- Chernivtsi oblast — ₴1.4 billion (+7.9%);
- Chernihiv oblast — ₴1.7 billion (+34.7%).
Other oblasts reported a decline in the construction output. In Kyiv, it fell by 5.6% to ₴26.9 billion.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2019, Ukraine’s construction products index increased by 20% against 2018. The highest trends in the segment were recorded in non-residential and engineering construction, an increase of 27.4% and 23.3% respectively. The residential construction index was up by just 3%.
