Exports of ferroalloys from Ukraine fell to 15.2 ths tonnes in 1H2026

A year earlier, these volumes stood at 55,000 tonnes

Ukraine’s ferroalloy producers saw a significant decline in exports during January–June 2026. Over the first six months of this year, exports totalled 15.21 thousand tonnes, compared with 55 thousand tonnes in January–June 2025. This is according to calculations by the GMK Centre based on data from the State Customs Service.

The main export destinations were Poland, Romania and the Netherlands, with 8.74 thousand tonnes, 1.41 thousand tonnes and 0.61 thousand tonnes respectively.

Over the last three months, the figure has been gradually recovering following a near-total halt in the first quarter. In particular, in the second quarter, ferroalloy export volumes rose to 14.04 thousand tonnes compared with 1.17 thousand tonnes in January–March. At the same time, year-on-year, the decline stood at 48.2% (27.09 thousand tonnes in the second quarter of 2025).

In June, Ukrainian producers shipped 6.43 thousand tonnes of ferroalloys abroad, which is 32.6% more month-on-month but 34.2% less year-on-year. This is currently the highest figure since October 2025.

Export revenue for January–June stood at $18.22 million, compared with $61.13 million a year earlier. In June, this figure stood at $7.72 million (+37.8% month-on-month; -31.2% year-on-year), and in the second quarter – $16.62 million (-47.4% year-on-year; +10.4 times quarter-on-quarter).

As reported by GMK Center, in 2025, Ukraine’s ferroalloy producers exported 93.84 thousand tonnes of products, compared with 77.36 thousand tonnes (+21.4% y/y) during the same period in 2024. Export revenue rose to $105.44 million, compared with $88.63 million a year earlier (+19% year-on-year).

The largest consumers of ferroalloy products during this period included Algeria — 21.28 thousand tonnes, Poland — 25.97 thousand tonnes (+24% year-on-year), Turkey – 20.4 thousand tonnes (+87% y-o-y) and Italy – 12.02 thousand tonnes (-29.1% y-o-y).
