Supplies for passenger trains account for a significant portion of the company's portfolio of railway projects
The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe supplies passenger train wheels for the route between the U.S. states of New York and New Jersey. This is stated in a company press release.
For over 7 years, Interpipe has been a regular supplier of wheels for the PATH commuter rail service in the United States. The Ukrainian company
regularly supplies 711-mm-diameter railway wheels for this service in accordance with the American standard AAR M107/M108. The products are equipped with noise-absorbing rings to ensure that trains do not exceed the permitted noise level in urban environments.
As noted by Oleg Vodolazhsky, Senior Sales Manager for railway products in the American and Asian markets, over the years Interpipe has proven its reliability as a partner by ensuring stable supplies to this customer.
“Today, as we shift our focus more toward the passenger segment, our experience supplying PATH confirms our expertise in this field. We hope to strengthen our market position in the coming years,” he added.
PATH is a commuter rail system connecting downtown New York City with four surrounding towns and is one of the most convenient ways to cross the Hudson River. The total length of the service’s lines is just 22 km, which is three times shorter than the routes of the Kyiv Metro. However, PATH trains carry over 220,000 local residents and tourists daily.
Supplies for passenger trains, particularly for high-speed urban and commuter services, account for a significant share of Interpipe’s railway project portfolio.
As a reminder, Interpipe has developed a new wheel set design for a railcar manufacturer in Northern Europe. The end user will be a steel mill in northern Sweden.
