Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) successfully sold 30.07 thousand tons of ferrous metal scrap worth UAH 146.46 million. Initially, the railway operator planned to sell 37.3 thousand tons of raw materials for UAH 150.76 million. The average price per ton of sold secondary scrap metal was UAH 5.01 thousand. This is evidenced by the relevant information of the electronic trading system Prozorro.Sale.
In total, 54 lots of scrap were published, for which 34 auctions were successfully held. UZ failed to sell 7.22 thousand tons of scrap worth more than UAH 25 million due to insufficient number of participants in the auctions.

Among the scrap sold are types 322, 4, 500, 506, 501, 1, 3. These are rails, wagon frames, wire, wagon axles, wheels and other scrap. Metinvest-Resources and Dniprostal MZ purchased the most raw materials – 14.01 thousand tons for UAH 61.7 million and 10.8 thousand tons for UAH 54.01 million, respectively.
From the beginning of 2023, UZ successfully implemented 39.98 thousand tons of ferrous metal scrap worth UAH 188.17 million.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia successfully implemented 113.04 thousand scrap ferrous metals with a total value of UAH 669.98 million. This is 43.8% and 55.4% less, respectively, compared to 2021.
