Railcars queue at the border crossings decreased by 23.6% in July

The railcars queue in the direction of border crossings during July decreased by 23.6%, or by 9,731 railcars. Deputy director of the commercial department work of Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) Valery Tkachov reported about it, according to the results of the Export Office meeting at the UZ.

According to Valery Tkachov, the queue of railcars in the direction of border crossings has significantly reduced (from a queue of 41,294 railcars on 06/30/22 to 28,933 railcars on 08/11/22). Thus, the queue reduction for this period was 30%.

During the 11 days of August, the queue was reduced by another 2,630 railcas, or by 8%.

The meeting also reported about the results of the plans/orders coordination in the export for August.

“At almost all border crossings, the volume of orders significantly exceeds the throughput capacity of the crossings, so Transport Logistics Center (TLC) is forced to apply reducing coefficients to reconcile all received orders from exporters. Currently, all orders received from exporters until the 22nd of the month preceding transportation are processed by TLC and are sent to foreign carriers for approval,” the message informs.

As GMK Center wrote earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia in January-July 2021 reduced transportation of iron and manganese ore by 3.3% compared to the same period of 2020 – up to 45.4 million tons.

In July UZ increased the transportation of iron and manganese ore by 3.2% compared to the previous month – up to 2.03 million tons.
