Poland’s Alchemia appointed KRUDO to sell its Rurexpol seamless pipe plant

The production equipment, property and territory are for sale

Polish steel group Alchemia SA has appointed Dutch consulting company KRUDO Industrial B.V. to oversee the sale of the existing Rurexpol seamless pipe plant in Częstochowa . This was reported to GMK Center by the KRUDO press office.

Not only the production equipment, but also the real estate and the territory are up for sale. The plant has a fully integrated production system, recognized certificates and unimpeded access to the market.

Key assets include two modernized rotary furnaces, rolling piling machines, ultrasonic and hydrostatic testing equipment, state-of-the-art heat treatment furnaces and API threading stations, including surface treatment to enable the production of high-precision seamless tubes.

The decision to sell is linked to Alchemia’s initiative to restructure and optimize operations against the backdrop of changes in the Polish and European steel industry.

Rurexpol’s Częstochowa facility specializes in the production of seamless pipes up to 273 mm, the plant served key sectors such as oil and gas, construction, engineering and critical infrastructure.

KRUDO Industrial managing director Martin Kolodziejczyk said that the acquisition of the Rurexpol plant provides an excellent opportunity for investors “seeking to increase their participation in the economic strength of Europe.”

KRUDO Industrial, based in Amsterdam, specializes in the acquisition and sale of industrial assets, managing both stand-alone equipment and full-scale production facilities in various sectors. The company has a successful track record with Alchemia S.A., having facilitated the sale of the company’s plant in Zawadzki.

Alchemia announced the liquidation of the Rurexpol subsidiary in November 2024. As noted, the decision was made because of the expected loss of the company’s ability to compete in the market against the background of deteriorating situation in the European metallurgy.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in February this year, the Częstochowa plant Rurexpol finally suspended operations. Andrzej Karol, the head of the National Section of Metallurgists “Solidarność”, confirmed that production had been stopped completely. However, the plant is in a state of full readiness, and if the necessary raw materials become available, it can be quickly restarted.
