Metinvest handed over a batch of UAVs and armored cars to the border guards

Metinvest group handed over a batch of UAVs of various modifications and armored cars to the State Border Service of Ukraine (SBSU). The total cost of assistance amounted to UAH 16 million. It is statd in the Metinvest.Media message.

The border guards received from the company 10 Valkyrie aviation complexes (20 aircraft) for long-range reconnaissance, 40 Mavic 3 drones for reconnaissance and artillery adjustment, another 100 special purpose drones and three armored missiles. Valkyries will help detect enemy targets at a distance of up to 40 km, and DJI Mavic 3 is best suited for close reconnaissance. All assistance was provided free of charge through Rinat Akhmetov’s «Steel Front» military initiative.

«We received vehicles that allow mobile groups to use these types of unmanned systems – Valkyries and Mavic 3. Together they can carry out reconnaissance, corrections and other military tasks,» explained the representative of the SBSU, senior lieutenant Dmytro Petrenko.

The crews that will work with the complexes are already being prepared.

«Valkyrie is a complex for detecting the enemy, Mavic 3 – eyes. We receive very positive feedback from the military. Therefore, we will now purchase another large batch of drones for the army,» said the head of the project office of Metinvest group’s CEO Oleksandr Vodoviz.

In total, the company has already brought approximately 30 armored cars to the defenders of Ukraine – primarily these are collector minibuses of various classes, which are purchased in Europe. Such vehicles are needed both for evacuation and for combat missions.

As GMK Center reported earlier, the Metinvest group, since the beginning of the full-scale war, handed over to various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine more than 1500 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In addition to the purchase of drones, the company undertakes the organization, logistics, search and supply of these scarce devices. This is a large volume of work, which greatly facilitates the task of the defenders and allows them to focus on confronting the aggressor.
