Six steel bunkers will be installed in such a way that they form one multifunctional command post
Metinvest Group has handed over a set of modular dugout shelters to the soldiers of the 15th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine named after Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada, Hero of Ukraine, as part of the Steel Front initiative. This is stated in a press release by Metinvest.Media.
Six steel bunkers will be installed in such a way that they form one multifunctional command post. The underground complex of buildings will serve the National Guard in the Donetsk sector, where fierce fighting is currently taking place.
The main task of Metinvest’s steel capsules is to preserve the lives and health of personnel performing tasks on the front line. The bunkers are equipped with workplaces, a headquarters for meetings and rapid response, recreation areas, sanitary facilities, etc.
The units are equipped with everything necessary: furniture, communications, sleeping places, showers and boilers, heating, lighting and communication systems, and electronic equipment. This makes it possible to use the underground headquarters not only as a shelter and a place of rest, but also as a work area.
“Given the difficult circumstances at the front, no one has the right to reduce support for our defenders, especially in the Donetsk sector, where the fighting is the most intense. Our steel shelters are a truly reliable and adapted to the realities of war product that is a crucial and very reliable security solution that meets the needs of soldiers in the field. We have already delivered more than 600 units to the front at the request of the military, and this work continues. The military’s requests and their positive feedback are the best sign of the quality and reliability of Metinvest’s steel products for the army,” said Metinvest’s Chief Operating Officer Olexander Myronenko.
Metinvest has handed over more than 600 steel capsules to Ukraine’s defense forces. They have been used to build shelters for personnel, command posts and even the first underground hospital in Ukraine. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has allocated UAH 7.5 billion to help Ukraine and its citizens, including UAH 4 billion for the needs of the army as part of the Steel Front military initiative.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Metinvest is among the top 3 largest wartime investors. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the company has spent over UAH 28.1 billion on CAPEX, including joint ventures.
