Interpipe strengthens its position in European markets despite the war

Despite the war, Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe continues to strengthen its position in the European markets of railway and pipe products. This is stated in the company’s press release.

In the summer, Interpipe began cooperation with Greenbrier Group, one of the world’s largest railcar builders. This US-based company is actively expanding its operations in the European market. As part of the partnership, the Ukrainian manufacturer supplies wheels, axles and wheelsets to Greenbrier Group.

In early November, Pierre Brand Brown, Director of Strategic Procurement at Greenbrier Group’s European division, visited Interpipe Steel and Interpipe NTZ in Dnipro. This was the first offline visit of a European client’s representative to Interpipe’s facilities since the start of the full-scale invasion.

The event was an important step in establishing further cooperation. According to Brown, the company appreciates Interpipe’s work even in the difficult conditions of war.

“During the visit, it was important for me to see that even under the current conditions in Ukraine, Interpipe’s production continues to operate. I saw the full chain – from steel billets to wheelsets, quality control and traceability of all production stages. In addition, I had the opportunity to talk to the team and saw people who want to work. This is my first time in Ukraine. Perhaps someone will say that now is not the best time to visit. But it’s important for us to show that you are not alone,” added Pierre Brand Brown.

Interpipe’s plants continue to operate steadily, remaining a reliable supplier of products to international partners. Despite the challenges, the company is expanding cooperation and confirming its reputation as a high-quality manufacturer.

As GMK Center reported earlier, Interpipe continues to invest in production to maintain its competitiveness in international markets. In 2023, the company’s capex is estimated at $31 million, up 48% y/y. In addition, the company has recently presented a major investment project worth about $1 billion, which involves the expansion of green steel production facilities.

Interpipe is an international vertically integrated pipe and wheel company that ranks among the top 10 seamless pipe producers in the world and among the top 3 producers of all-rolled railway wheels.
