New product weighing more than 3 tons expands the company's presence in European markets
The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has mastered the production of super-heavy pipes weighing more than 3 tons and up to 7 meters long, a new technological level in the industry that opens up new opportunities in the engineering and construction market. This is stated in the company’s press release.
A standard pipe with a 50-60 mm wall is up to 5 m long and weighs about 2 tons. To produce pipes that are one-third heavier, the company’s specialists have developed a special technology.
The new products have already been delivered to a customer for the manufacture of hydraulic cylinders used in mine supports, which are structures that hold the ceilings in mines. However, the potential scope of application is much wider: from the construction of supports for bridges and stadiums to use in the infrastructure of offshore wind farms.
This is a sophisticated niche product that significantly expands Interpipe’s production and export capabilities, particularly in the European market, where demand for high-tech solutions in infrastructure and energy is growing.
Over the past three years, the company’s R&D team has brought more than 250 new types of pipes to the market, most of which are niche products for the engineering, construction and energy sectors.
Interpipe continues to invest in the development of sophisticated tubular products, maintaining its focus on high added value and global competitiveness.
As GMK Center reported earlier, Interpipe is actively expanding its presence in the European railway market. The company already supplies railway products to all European countries, and currently two out of three EU freight cars are fitted with Ukrainian-made wheels. However, by 2032, the company plans to actively enter the passenger wheel segment, which is much more complex and technologically advanced than the freight segment.
