Ferrexpo expanded funding for Humanitarian Fund to $7.5 million

Funds will be applied to supply food and medicines to local communities and to support communities in Ukraine

Ferrexpo expanded the level of approved funding for its Humanitarian Fund to $7,5 million to provide further support to local communities close to the Group’s operations, as well as broader support for communities throughout Ukraine, stated on Group’s website.

“The situation in Ukraine is rapidly evolving and the Fund is intended to help enable the Group to react quickly to meet the increased needs of Ukraine and our workforce and their families at this difficult time”, the message says.

The projects of the Fund include the supply and distribution of food packages, the sourcing of basic medical supplies for local hospitals and medical facilities and the provision of meals for local residents of communities close to the Group’s operations.

As previously reported, on March 7, Ferrexpo created the Humanitarian Fund to support the communities close to the Group’s operations, as well as to help Ukraine in general, and has already provided to it $1.5 million.

Previously Ferrexpo accommodated 1,335 people from other regions of the country in its real estate, who sought shelter from the war – a hotel, recreation centers, a hostel, and a children camp.
